TCRC ladies lead the way
A week full of achievements for Three Counties Running Club with the ladies definitely calling the shots.
A late result from the Whitemoor 5 miler ended up with 2 of the club runners winning 1st place age category prizes.
Amy Baxter won 1st Lady home in the Veteran age 35 category and Elisabeth Sennitt-Clough winning 1st place in Veteran age 40+ category. Such a fantastic achievement for the ladies and the club on what was a very warm day.
Elisabeth’s winning streak didn’t end there as she went on to run and win outright The Race for Life event held at The Wisbech Grammar School on the Wednesday evening. Elisabeth finished in a fantastic time of 21:24 with her daughters also running, Rebekah claiming a PB time of 28:02 and Sarah finishing in 31:10.
Wednesday evening saw some of the club members participate in the 3rd event of the Peterborough Grand Prix Series with this event being held at Thorney. Dawn Ball was first club member home in a fantastic PB of 25:52 closely followed by Sarah Melton-Whitelam in 25:59, Sarah Lamb breaking the sub 30 in 29:52 and Steve Clarke in 30:28.
Saturday was a great show of TCRC members at Kings Lynn Parkrun in support of Tracey Else and Keith White both running their 50th Parkrun. Another very warm morning didn’t deter 4 club runners getting PB’s. Gary Bligh was first club runner home in a fantastic time of 21:24, Sarah Clark 23:48PB, Matt Hunter 24:09, Teresa Rodrigues 24:41, Tracey Else 24:53, Dawn Ball 25:31PB, Colin Apps 25:32, Vicki Drake 25:47, Sarah-Jane Macdonald 26:24, Zoe Gourley 27:10, Keith White 27:37, Alice Ingman 27:38CPB, Stephen Rhodes 28:48, Sandra Rhodes first in age and 28:50PB and Barbara Leake 35:45.
Another warm Sunday morning saw husband and wife Mark and Anne-Marie Mattless travel to Marham to run in the RAF Marham summer 10k event around the airbase. Mark finished in 47:44 and Anne-Marie in 1:09:02.
Sunday was also The Peterborough 10k race which was a fast, flat single lap course around Nene Park taking in woodlands, lakes and meadows. Daniel Barnes was first club runner home in 45:46 with Elisabeth Sennitt-Clough hot on his heals crossing the line in 46:00 and finishing 1st in age category followed by Amy Baxter in 51:57.
Once again a great turnout of 44 runners at The Wisbech Junior Parkrun on Sunday. Maisie Macdonald was first club runner home in 9:56 finishing 9th position, 3rd female and 1st in age. Hayden Hall was next TCRC junior member home in 13:16, Stephanie Harbord 13:28, William Durkin 13:32 and Joseph Durkin 24:44.
Brothers Hayden and Kallum Hall have now gained their half marathon bracelets as they have both completed 11 Junior Parkrun races.
