TCRC go ‘March’ing on
Despite the rising temperatures over the weekend, Three Counties Running Club had a superb fun packed weekend of 10k’s, 50th Parkrun celebration, Junior Parkrun, 5milers and Half Ironman’s.
Saturday saw 10 club runners travel to March to help celebrate Steve Clarke complete his 50th Parkrun. Vicki Drake was first TCRC member Home in 27:43CPB, Tony Lamb 28:07, Steve Clarke 30:10, Lily Amps and Victoria May 31:18, Sarah Lamb 31:25CPB, Steve Whitelam 33:56, Barbara Leake 37:02CPB, Emma Sage 37:14CPB and Sarah-Jane Macdonald 37:15.
10k events were underway for TCRC at Holkham, Lincoln and Lee Valley Velodrome.
Tracey Else was the solo TCRC member at Lincoln running a great time of 53:57.
There were 2 husband and wife teams racing the weekend with Mark and Anne-Marie Mattless Running the Lee Valley Velodrome 10k, claiming great times of 48:46 and 1:11:52 and Steve and Sandra Rhodes running the mixed terrain Holkham 10k. In the high temperatures Steve managed to knock a good couple of minutes of finishing in a fantastic PB time of 49:40 and Sandra completing in 1:07:50.
The Whitemoor 5 miler and 1.5 mile fun run in March was a great mixed terrain route in temperatures rising to 28 degrees.
12 year old Junior member Maisie Macdonald ran the 1.5 miles in 12:55, finishing 7th Female and 29th out of 90 runners.
The 5 mile event had 12 club runners participating with 7 gaining PB’s. The TCRC ladies definitely meant business with 1st club runner home Elisabeth Sennitt-Clough in a great time of 38:18 claiming not only 4th female home overall but also winning an age category prize. Next club runner home was Amy Baxter is a fantastic PB of 44:00 also winning 3rd veteran lady. A nice little flurry of club runners to finish with Sarah Johnson and Sarah-Jane Macdonald both crossing the line with PB’s in 48:00, Dawn Ball 48:12PB, Vicki Drake 48:16, Marc Martin 51:01, Alice Ingman 51:42PB, Tony Lamb 52:01, Louise Drew 53:02PB, Steve Clarke 54:58PB and Sarah Lamb 56:58.
TCRC are not just a Running Club for athletes, beginners and families but also support the members in other sporting events.
Matt Hunter an Arthur Sargeant travelled to Holkham to take part in their first ever Ironman called the Outlaw Half Ironman. The event consists of 1.2 mile lake swim, 56mile bike ride on the coastal and country roads and then finishing off with a 13.1 mile run around the estate.
Matt completed the event in a total time including transitions of 6:40:22. (swim 35:10, bike 3:09:51 and run 2:42:10). Arthur finished in a total time including transitions of 7:33:22 (swim 37:50, bike 3:37:54, run 3:04:37).
Junior Parkrun saw 7 club members take part on a very warm morning with first club runner home in 4th place and 1st Female Casey Grange in 11:16, Hayden Hall 11:58, Imogen Agger 13:12PB, Stephanie Harbord 14:12, Jack Petts 16:31PB, Kallum Hall 16:39CPB and Joseph Durkin in 23:59.
TCRC are next flying the flag Wednesday evening in the Peterborough Grand Prix Series.
